However, some may still place a hold or pre-authorization on the card as a security deposit. Still, it’s important to remember that debit cards are more widely accepted in local bike rental shops or smaller services. Larger chains may require a credit card and credit card only.
• Cash payments. Some bike rental companies, particularly smaller local businesses, accept cash payments – although this is quite rare. Such locations typically require security deposits to ensure the bike is returned in good condition. They’ll return the deposit once the renter returns the e-bike in good condition.
