You rent an e-bike, make 12 monthly payments, and then you can buy out your e-bike for $99.For weekly plans, the bike can be bought out after 6 months of rental.
The buyout is totally optional — you can return the e-bike anytime before the 6 or 12 months with no penalties.For pre-owned bikes, there is no down payment. For new e-bikes, there’s a $99 down payment with your first payment.
Our Rent-to-Own plans include free maintenance and repairs for normal wear and tear. This covers things like flat tires, brake adjustments, and other minor fixes.
Labor includes: changing flat tires, brake adjustments, gear adjustments, seat adjustments, front and rear light adjustments, and wheel adjustments.
Parts included: tubes, tires, pads, rotors, chains, and cassette.
For more serious repairs, while these aren’t free, you can get on-demand service at our stores without an appointment. You can review all costs in our price list for repairs and damages for full transparency.
In all monthly plans, you can choose either a pre-owned or a new bike.
For pre-owned bikes, there is no down payment. For new e-bikes, a $99 down payment is required with your first payment.
In the personal account, you’ll see pre-owned bikes by default. You can select the new version on the second step.
The Rent-to-Own program is available to riders 18 and older who can provide the required documents: a valid ID and a debit or credit card in your name. Cash or prepaid cards are not accepted. No SSN required.
Proof of address isn’t required unless:
• your address is out of state, or
• your ID doesn’t show an address.
All customers go through a background check. If you don’t pass, we may not be able to rent you an e-bike, or we may ask for a deposit.
Just return the e-bike to one of our locations within 24 hours of your rental plan expiration, during our working hours. No cancellation fees.
Please return the e-bike, along with all additional equipment and any other items rented from us, to one of our locations within 24 hours after your rental plan ends.Failure to do so within this time frame will result in daily penalties.
Upon return, our representative will inspect the e-bike and additional equipment for damages beyond normal wear and tear.
You can pick up your e-bike at one of our offices in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and Chicago, or you can opt for door-to-door delivery for $35 in New York and New Jersey.

We offer a Protection Plan as part of your Ren-to-Own subscription for $19 + tax. This plan covers 50% of all repair and damage costs, including common issues like brakes, lights, and cables.
In case of theft or loss, your maximum liability is capped at $500, as long as the working battery is returned. Intentional damage or negligence is not covered.
If your bike gets stolen, contact our customer support right away. They’ll share its location so you can try to find it yourself.
If you’re unable to locate it, we’ll send a recovery team. The fee is $150, or $75 if you have the Protection Plan.
Park your e-bike in any safe spot that doesn’t block people or traffic.Use bike racks whenever possible, remove the battery, and lock your bike — both are included in your plan.
For extra security, avoid leaving your e-bike unattended for long periods, especially overnight.

Yes, for the Storm-2 bike, there are several ways to get an extra battery: you can add it through Rent-to-Own, purchase one, or, in New York and Washington, DC, use Battery Swapping.
You can pay for your Rent-to-Own plan using a credit or debit card issued in your name. We don’t accept cash, checks, or prepaid cards.Please note that your Rent-to-Own plan will renew automatically, and the fee for the next month will be charged if you don’t cancel beforehand.

Yes, you can — but only using a Whizz-provided charger. For safety and battery health, please do not use third-party chargers.
Charging takes 2–3 hours to reach a full level. But you don’t have to wait — just swap and go!
The swapped battery does not need to be returned the same day. You can continue riding and use it safely until your next swap, based on your schedule and riding needs.
Battery Swapping is available as an add-on for just $49/month, billed together with your monthly bike rental.
For Whizz bike owners, battery swapping with a rental battery is available for $75/month.
Battery Swapping is currently available for Storm-2 and Thunder bikes. To use the service, you must have an active subscription with Battery Swapping, along with the compatible battery provided at sign-up.
Yes, absolutely. You can swap your battery as many times as needed, depending on your riding needs. The service is designed to keep you going without interruption.
You’ll find a new "Battery Swapping" section in Whizz personal account or Whizz app. From there, you can locate nearby cabinets and manage your swaps quickly and easily.

No, battery swaps can only be completed at designated cabinet locations. Swapping is not available directly through Whizz shops.
